Blue Curacao

One of my favorite summer cocktails is the Blue Lagoon – there’s something about it that says summertime to me. Maybe it reminds me of the inviting blue of the Mediterranean or Caribbean, I don’t really know. It also tastes absolutely scrummy AND very importantly you can drink quite a few of them without feeling the effects later on or the next day. This is because Blue Lagoon’s aren’t a strong cocktail, they’re what are called a long cocktail. In the case of the Blue Lagoon the cocktail contains a good dose of lemonade.

How to make your Blue Lagoon?

20 ml Vodka
15 ml Blue Curacao
lemonade

Take a highball glass and fill with ice. Add the vodka and Blue Curacao to the glass and then top up with lemonade while gently stirring.

Now that you’ve brought some Blue Curacao, what else can you do with it? Well Blue Curacao is used in Blue Hawaiians as well as Blue Margaritas, you can check out these recipes along with a few more at 10 Cocktails to Cure the Blues.

Celebrate National Champagne Day

Aug 4th is National Champagne Day and what better way to celebrate it than by indulging in a Champagne cocktail (or two!)? Breakfast could be a mimosa and dinner could be accompanied with a Chateau Cardillo.

To make a Chateau Cardillo you will need -
1 oz pear juice
a dash of black raspberry liqueur
Champagne

Pour both the pear juice and raspberry liqueur into a Champagne flute before carefully filling the glass with Champers. Absolutely delicious!

For even more Champagne cocktails check out the appropriately named Champagne Cocktails page.

Have a fantastic National Champagne Day!
